Ammar Al-Joundi

Mr. Al-Joundi was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Agnico Eagle Mines Limited in February 2022. Prior to this, he was President of Agnico Eagle from 2015 to 2022 and also served as the company’s Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Al-Joundi has over 20 years of experience in finance and business strategy, and has extensive experience in mining, capital markets and banking.

Prior to his return to become Agnico Eagle’s President, Mr. Al-Joundi served as the Chief Financial Officer of Barrick Gold Corporation, as Barrick’s Senior Executive Vice President and as its Executive Vice President. Mr. Al-Joundi has held various senior financial roles including Senior Vice President of Capital Allocation and Business Strategy, Senior Vice President of Finance, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Barrick South America and Vice President, Structured Finance at Citibank, Canada. Mr. Al-Joundi is a Professional Engineer with a degree in Mechanical Engineering (graduating with distinction – University of Toronto) and an MBA (graduating with honours - University of Western Ontario).

Mr. Boyd serves as the Chair of the Board of Agnico Eagle Mines Limited. Prior to this role, he was the Executive Chair of the Board from February 2022 until his retirement in December 2023, and Vice Chairman and the Company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from 1998 to 2022. Before his appointment as CEO, Mr. Boyd served as the Chief Financial Officer from 1990 to 1998 and Comptroller from 1985 to 1990.

During Mr. Boyd's tenure as CEO, Agnico Eagle grew from a small, single mine gold producer to a multi-mine international gold mining company. In December 2020, the Globe and Mail ROB Magazine recognized him as its Global Visionary of the Year CEO. He was recognized as The Northern Miner’s Mining Person of the Year in 2007 and 2017 and appeared on the list of The Best-Performing CEOs in the World in the Harvard Business Review in 2010, 2016 and 2017.

In 2019, Mr. Boyd was recognized by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA Ontario) as a Fellow, the highest honour bestowed upon a CPA within the accounting profession. In 2021, Mr. Boyd received the degree Doctor of Laws honoris causa, from St. Francis Xavier University (Nova Scotia).

Mr. Boyd served on the Board of Directors of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation (2013 – 2022). He has also served on the Boards of the World Gold Council and the St. Francis Xavier University Board of Governors.

Prior to joining Agnico Eagle in 1985, Mr. Boyd was a staff accountant with Clarkson Gordon (Ernst & Young). He is a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA, FCA) and a graduate of the University of Toronto (B.Comm.).

Mr. Parr serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Agnico Eagle Mines Limited. Prior to the merger of the two companies Jeff served as the Chairman of the Board for Kirkland Lake Gold (2019 - 2022) and preceding that, Independent Director from 2014 - 2019. He has over 30 years of executive leadership experience in the mining and related industries.

Mr. Parr joined Centerra Gold Inc in 2006 as VP Finance and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2008 where he served until his retirement in 2016. Mr. Parr was also the Chief Financial Officer for Acres International for nine years. From 1988 to 1997 he held progressively senior financial positions at WMC International (a subsidiary of Western Mining Corporation) with responsibility for operations and exploration in the Americas. He ultimately served as the Company’s Executive Vice President.

Mr. Parr is also a member of the Board of Discovery Silver Corporation.

Mr Parr is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA 1984) and obtained the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors (2018). He holds a Masters of Business Administration (McMaster University) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (University of Western Ontario).

Mr. Sokalsky serves as Lead Director of the Board of Agnico Eagle Mines Limited. He was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Barrick Gold Corporation (2012 to 2014) and preceding that, Chief Financial Officer (1999 to 2012).

Mr. Sokalsky has over 25 years of experience as a senior executive and Director in the mining industry, including finance, corporate strategy, project development and mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. He also served for 10 years at George Weston Limited in a number of senior financial roles and began his professional career at Ernst & Whinney Chartered Accountants, a predecessor of KPMG. Mr. Sokalsky is the Chairman of the Board of Probe Metals Inc. and a Director of Royal Gold Inc. Mr. Sokalsky received his CA designation in 1982 and holds a B. Comm. degree (Lakehead University).

The Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, an experienced politician and government administrator from the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut, received the 2021 Women in Mining Canada Indigenous Trailblazer Award. First elected as a Member of Parliament in 2008, in 2009 she became the first Inuk in Canadian history to be appointed to Cabinet as Minister of Health.

Ms. Aglukkaq was a member of the Board of Directors of TMAC Resources Inc. until its acquisition by the Company in February 2021. She was also Chair of the Arctic Council from 2012 to 2015, a leading intergovernmental forum promoting cooperation in the Arctic with a focus on sustainable development and environmental protection in the Arctic.

Ms. Aglukkaq has territorial government experience as both an elected official and a public official in the governments of Nunavut and the Northwest Territories, and as a founding member of the Nunavut Impact Review Board.

Ms. Aglukkaq holds a degree in Public and Business Administration (Arctic College, NWT) and holds a Certification in Human Resources (University of Winnipeg).

Ms. Lewis-Gray is a former Board member of Kirkland Lake Gold (2019-2022) and is co-founder and Chair of Gekko Systems, a technology leader in mineral processing with a focus on digital instrumentation, automation, mineral recovery and low-energy solutions. Founder and now Patron of Coalition for Eco-Efficient Comminution (CEEC), Ms. Lewis-Gray was visionary in the formation of this not-for-profit organization to accelerate knowledge transfer and change in the field of eco-efficient comminution for the mining industry.

Ms. Lewis-Gray served as a member of the Australian Gold Council, the Australian Federal Government’s Innovation Australia Board and National Precincts Board and the Victorian Government’s Resources Advisory Council. She was the founding Chair of the Federal Government’s Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) Growth Centre, METS Ignited and currently serves as Deputy Chair. In 2016, Federation University Australia honored Elizabeth with an Honorary Doctorate in recognition of service and contributions to the mining sector, mineral processing, business leadership, and environmental management.

Ms. Lewis-Gray holds a Bachelor of Economics, a Securities Institute Diploma and a Masters in Business Management. She is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM), the Australian Academy of Technology, Science and Engineering and the Financial Services Institute of Australia. Mr. Girard joined the company as a Metallurgist in 2000 at the LaRonde mine and has subsequently held several strategic positions including Mill Superintendent at the Kittilä mine (Finland), General Manager at the Meadowbank mine, Corporate Director with the Business Strategy Group and Vice President Technical Services.  Mr. Girard graduated with an Engineering degree in mineral processing (P.Eng. - Laval University) and is a member of the OIQ (Quebec Order of Engineers).

Prior to her appointment she served as Executive Vice President - Operational Excellence (2022 - 2024), Senior Vice President (SVP) - Sustainability, People and Culture (2021 - 2022), SVP, Sustainability (2020) and Vice President - Corporate Development (2017 - 2019). Mr. Porter is Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, leading our Finance & Accounting, Investor Relations, Treasury, and Information Technology teams since May 2023.

Mr. Porter has over 20 years of progressive experience in the mining industry. Most recently, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Alamos Gold Inc., a position he held since 2011, after joining Alamos Gold in 2005. Prior to Alamos Gold, Mr. Porter was Controller and Corporate Secretary for a Central American-based gold producer and started his career at PwC.

Mr. Porter is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), and in 2022 was recognized with its highest distinction and was named a CPA Ontario Fellow. He was the recipient of the Best Investor Relations by a CFO (Small and Mid-cap) Award at the Canadian IR Magazine Awards in 2016 and 2017.

Mr. Porter joined the Royal Ontario Museum Board of Governors (ROM) in December 2023 and also currently serves on the Canada Advisory Board for FM Global. Previously, Mr. Porter has served as Director of the World Gold Council, Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of NOMAD Royalty Company, and Director of Canadian Feed the Children.

Mr. Porter holds a Bachelor of Administrative and Commercial Studies (University of Western Ontario) and is also a Certified Public Accountant in the United States (Illinois).

Mr. Robitaille is a mining technology graduate (College de l'Abitibi Témiscamingue) with a specialty in ore processing and currently serves as Chair of the Canada Mining Innovation Council (CMIC).

Over her 10-year tenure with Lake Shore Gold Corp she held a number of operational and technical services roles, including Director, Technical Services and Project Evaluation, and Vice President, Technical Services.

Ms. Vaz is a Professional Engineer with over 20 years of operational and technical experience in the mining industry.  She is the current chair of the Board of Directors of the Ontario Mining Association who holds a Bachelor of Applied Sciences, Mineral Engineering (University of Toronto) and an Executive MBA (Kellogg-Schulich School of Management).

Prior to joining Agnico Eagle, Mr. Vollmershausen was in-house counsel at a Canadian-based international manufacturing company and worked as a corporate securities lawyer for a prominent Toronto law firm.

Prior to joining Agnico Eagle, Mr. Adams served as Mine Manager at Lalor Mine for Hudbay Minerals Inc., and Manager of Engineering at the Voisey’s Bay Mine Expansion in Newfoundland and Labrador for Vale Base Metals.

Mr. Adams is a professional Engineer with over 25 years of operational, engineering and project management experience. Mr. Adams holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (McGill University).

Mr. Ali is Vice President, Sustainability & Regulatory Affairs. Prior to this role, he was Vice President, Environment for Kirkland Lake Gold (2017 – 2022).

With over 20 years of experience in the mining sector, Mr. Ali is an environmental, social and sustainability executive with broad technical, regulatory and management expertise stemming from a background in research, consulting, engineering and business development.

Mr. Ali is a committee member with several organizations including, the Canadian Institute of Mining, Ontario Mining Association and he also chairs various mining, environmental and sustainability committees and conferences in Canada and around the world. He sits on the Industry Advisory Group, whose effort is to converge ESG reporting. He was also appointed as the mining representative for the Canadian Sustainability Standards Board.

Mr. Ali has been awarded the prestigious Central District Distinguished Service Award and the Sustainable Development Award by the Canadian Institute of Mining and holds a degree in Chemical Engineering (Middle East Technical University).

Mr. Allaire has been with Agnico Eagle since 2001 and has held increasingly senior operational and supervisory roles at our Meadowbank and La Ronde mines as well as in our Abitibi (Quebec) region operations. He was also a part of the Management team for the ramp up of our Kittilä mine (Finland).

Prior to his appointment in May 2023, he held the roles of Vice President, Operations for the Canadian Malartic Partnership, General Manager of the Canadian Malartic mine from 2015 to 2021, as well as a number of management positions at Agnico Eagle’s Goldex, Lapa and LaRonde mines from 2005 to 2015.

Previously, Mr. Blais worked on a variety of management teams at Cambior Inc. and as a mine superintendent for Newmont Corporation.

Mr. Blais holds a Bachelor's degree in mining engineering (Laval University).

Mr. Brunet has more than 20 years of experience in the mining industry and prior to joining Agnico Eagle, he served in various operational roles at Breakwater Resources, Cambior and Iamgold.

Mr. Brunet holds a Bachelor of Mining Engineering from Polytechnique Montreal and is a member of the OIQ (Quebec Order of Engineers).

Mr. Cook is Vice President, Finance and has held this position since 2011. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Cook held increasingly senior financial and accounting related roles at Agnico Eagle, including Corporate Director, Controller and Manager, Corporate Reporting. Since joining the Company in 2004, he has led or contributed to all core financial departments at various times, including Internal Audit, Financial Planning and Analysis, Financial Systems and Treasury.

Prior to joining Agnico Eagle, he served at Ernst & Young LLP, in various audit and tax positions.

Ms. Duquette is Vice President, Mineral Resources Management (2023). Prior to her appointment, she served as Corporate Director, Mineral Reserves Development (2019 - 2022) and Senior Advisor, Business Strategy (2017 - 2019).

Ms. Duquette has worked in the mining industry for nearly 30 years and has extensive technical and operational expertise. Since joining Agnico Eagle in 1997, she has held several key positions including Superintendent, Geology at Goldex mine, Principal Geologist - Technical Services, Production Geologist at LaRonde Complex, and Exploration Geologist at Goldex mine.

She also worked at Premier Gold Mines (2013 - 2015) and Greenstone Gold Mines (2015 - 2017) as the Director, Geology.

Ms. Duquette holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Geology (University of Ottawa). She is a Member of the Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (PGO) and the Quebec Order of Geologists (OGQ). She was also a Member of the Board of Directors of the OGQ (2010 - 2014).

Prior to joining Agnico Eagle in 2013, Mr. Greenhouse was the CFO of a junior mining company and has worked in various roles at RBC Capital Markets’ fixed income and the currency trading floor.

He holds a Master of Science degree in Accounting and Finance (London School of Economics and Political Science, UK) and an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (McMaster University). Mr. Grondin is Vice President, Exploration (2023). Prior to this appointment, he held the role of Exploration Manager, Canada (2020 - 2022) and has been with Agnico Eagle since 2018.

Before joining Agnico Eagle, Mr. Grondin was President and CEO of SOQUEM, a subsidiary of Investissement Québec and leader in Quebec’s mineral exploration industry.

With more than 25 years of exploration and production experience in various commodities including gold, nickel, copper, and zinc, he has held progressively senior roles as a Geologist for senior and mid-tier producers and junior explorers, with a focus on exploration management.

Mr. Grondin is a professional Geologist registered in the provinces of Quebec and Ontario. He holds a M.Sc. in Economic Geology (McGill University) and a B.Sc. in Applied Geology (Université du Québec à Montréal).

Mr. Hann is Vice President, Australia with 30 years of experience working in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia and Victoria. Prior to his appointment, he was Vice President, Australian Operations (2020 - 2022) for Kirkland Lake Gold, Fosterville - General Manager (2018 - 2020) and Fosterville - Mining Manager (2005 - 2018).  

Mr. Hann has been instrumental in leading the six-fold increase in production and multi-million-dollar capital projects for the Fosterville Gold Mine, all while maintaining a high level of operational excellence and leadership in sustainable mining practices and health and safety in the workplace.

He is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (FAusIMM), is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree (Mining) (Western Australian School of Mines - WASM).

Mr. Julien is Vice President, Environment & Critical Infrastructures. Prior to his appointment, he has held roles as Vice President, Environment and Corporate Director, Environment and has been with Agnico Eagle since 2011.

He was a Principal at Golder Associates where he contributed for over 20 years in the field of mine waste and water management. He is Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto Civil and Mineral Engineering Department, and former Chairman of the Board of the Research Institute on Mines and Environment (RIME) of Polytechnique-UQAT.

Mr. Julien is a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada (FEIC). He holds a B.Sc., B.Eng. (Mining Engineering – Polytechnique of Montreal), an M.Sc. (Geo - Engineering - University of Minnesota) and a Ph.D. (Mineral Engineering - Polytechnique of Montreal). He is a registered Professional Engineer in Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

Mr. Lam is Vice President, Treasury. Prior to his appointment, he held the role of Corporate Director, Treasurer where he helped develop and grow Agnico Eagle’s treasury and financial risk management strategy and has also held the role of Mine Controller at the Meadowbank Mine since joining in 2007. Mr. Lam is a seasoned finance professional bringing nearly 20 years of experience in treasury and corporate finance, financial reporting and planning and operations finance, with 15 of those years within the mining industry. Prior to joining Agnico Eagle, he held finance positions with leading diamond mining and global consumer packaged goods companies. Mr. Lam is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).

Mr. Leite is a professional Engineer with close to 20 years of operational, technical and project management experience in the gold, base metals, uranium and iron ore mining industries.

Mr. Leite holds a Master’s degree in Mining Engineering focusing on Mineral Resource Modeling and Strategic Mine Planning (McGill University) and a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in Brazil).

Mr. Lösönen has been Vice President, Europe and Managing Director, Agnico Eagle Finland since 2017.

He has nearly 25 years of professional experience in the mining industry. Prior to joining Agnico Eagle, Mr. Lösönen held various production and business executive positions in Kemira and Ekokem.

Mr. Lösönen also serves as board member of various companies and organizations. He is the Chair of the Board of the Finnish Mining Association (FinnMin) and is also a member of Euromines Executive Committee.

He holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management (Lappeenranta University of Technology).

Mr. Plante has held various positions within the mining industry for over 25 years. Prior to joining Agnico Eagle, he served as General Manager of the Mount Wright Mine at ArcelorMittal and Matagami Mine at Glencore.

Prior to this, he held the position of Director, Information Systems for Lake Shore Gold (2011-2016).  Mr. Yip has a diverse IT background, having held progressively senior positions at a major Canadian telecommunications company, where he provided advisory and consulting services to various companies in the mining, financial, healthcare and automotive industries across both the private and public sectors.   

Mr. Yip is a computer engineer with over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, 15 years in the mining sector and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree (Queen’s University).

Ms. Yu is Vice President, Legal and has held this position since 2022. Prior to her appointment, she served as Vice President, Legal (2021-2022) for Kirkland Lake Gold. 

Earlier in her career, she was the Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary for Centerra Gold Inc. and worked as a corporate securities lawyer for a prominent Toronto law firm.

Ms. Yu holds a Bachelor of Science (McGill University) degree, a LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School (York University) and an Osgoode Certificate in Mining Law.
